No prior/existing fitness qualifications are needed to attend the course. However, experience in attending lots of group exercise classes as a participant, a genuine love and passion for studio based health and fitness and the determination to learn, will certainly be up there as the right ingredients for becoming a student on the Frame Studio Fitness Instructing course.

The course will be lead by Jenny Newton who has nearly 20 years of experience within the fitness industry with 15 of these spent educating and supporting both groups and individuals to better, improve and even change their career.

The practical sessions will be helped run by Frame Master Trainers

As with any Frame Academy training course there will be a big emphasis on teaching techniques, music choices and bringing the element of fun in.

By the end of the course students will be ready to lead their own classes, having had several opportunities to practice teaching the group throughout the 4 days.

The Studio Fitness Instructing course goes above and beyond any of the current group exercise courses available in the market, and has been designed to equip people like you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to run safe, effective and motivating group exercise classes both within and outside Frame.

The course has an emphasis on assisting and adjusting, which is often seen in the likes of Yoga teacher training. It also focuses on communication skills and developing the emotional intelligence of the instructor, in a bid to ensure the participants needs and outcomes, are at the forefront of the class experience.

The Studio Fitness Instructing course also focuses on observation skills and equips learners and instructors with the skills they need to develop class participants. It has a section on pre and post-natal instruction and how needs and demands vary through each trimester, something which is missed in many group exercise and exercise to music courses.

On completion of the 4 day course (Route 1) graduates will be able to teach Group Exercise classes at any fitness venue. Graduates may also consider setting up their own classes at a local venue.

However, to teach in some of the bigger health club/national chains, they will require the full Level 2 fitness qualification. (Route 2)

All graduates will be invited to a trial to teach at Frame upon completion of the certificate.

The course is endorsed by YMCA awards, and after this course instructors will be able to design and deliver effective group exercises classes to music.

Route 1 will gain a FRAME CPD certificate endorsed by the YMCA

The full route 2 option will gain the FRAME CPD and the Level 2 accreditation that can lead to L3 Personal training.

All learning materials will be provided on the day of the course, but your own notebook or preferred way of taking notes/learning materials would be a good idea, along with some changes of workout kit too, for the practical sessions.

There will be homework, some home studying and lesson plans to prepare, that will need to be delivered within the course duration.
